Anthony Adewale Sobogun, a 61-year-old Nigerian man residing in Croydon, United Kingdom, has been sentenced to 28 years in prison over child sexual abuse offences.

The sentencing took place at UK Crown Court, where the judge described his actions as deep damage to the victim.

The court heard statements detailing the long-term trauma suffered by the victims and their families. In delivering the sentence, the judge advised parents/guardians to protect children and send a clear message that such crimes will be met with a long-term punishment. Anthony Sobogun was asked to register as a sex offender for life and will be deported upon completion of his prison term.
