Toronto police are on the hunt for a man accused of sexually assaulting a child inside a busy grocery store. The disturbing incident occurred on Sunday evening, leaving the local community in a state of shock.

Authorities arrived at the scene near Victoria Park Avenue and St. Clair Avenue East around 7:00 p.m. on June 21. Reports indicate the victim was shopping alongside their parents when a stranger approached and carried out the heinous attack.

The suspect did not stay at the scene for long. After the assault, he bolted out of the store. A brave bystander attempted to chase the man down on foot, but the suspect managed to disappear into the surrounding neighbourhood before he could be caught.

Investigators have officially classified the case as sexual interference, a serious criminal charge involving sexual contact with a minor under the age of 16. Police are currently reviewing security footage to track the perpetrator's movements.

The suspect is described as a man in his 30s with a slim frame. At the time of the incident, he was spotted wearing a green t-shirt, dark Adidas shorts, and distinctive pink Crocs. Officials are urging anyone with information or clear dashcam footage from the area to contact the police immediately.
