A 23-year-old man, Sushant, is currently in police custody after he allegedly committed a horrific crime against his three-year-old stepson, Aditya. The incident, which has left the Faridabad community in shock, occurred on Sunday morning.
Police reports indicate that the suspect was deeply unhappy about his wife’s frequent visits to her mother’s home, where the young boy lived. The couple, who have been married for a year, reportedly engaged in constant arguments regarding the child, as the stepfather harbored strong resentment toward him.
On the morning of the tragedy, the suspect accompanied his wife to the grandparents' house in Shiv Durga Vihar. While there, he allegedly seized a moment of opportunity to attack the toddler, using a knife to slit the boy's throat. The child was discovered lifeless on a bed shortly after 11 am.
Following the discovery of the body, local authorities and forensic experts were dispatched to the scene to secure evidence. The grandfather of the victim, Shriram, filed a formal complaint, leading to the registration of an FIR at the Surajkund police station.
The Faridabad crime branch confirmed the arrest of the suspect on Tuesday. Justice is expected to take its course as the accused is scheduled to appear in a city court this Wednesday to face charges for this senseless act of violence.
