WIP Energy is sharpening its focus on regional expansion with the appointment of two industry heavyweights, Ian Levy and Gillian Harris, to its Board of Directors.

The company announced the move this week as it looks to solidify its footprint across Jamaica and the wider Caribbean. Chairman Patrick Hylton expressed confidence in the new directors, noting that their diverse backgrounds are exactly what the firm needs to drive its ambitious growth strategy.

Ian Levy joins the board with an impressive resume spanning more than 60 years in business. A titan in Jamaican commerce, Levy has successfully navigated sectors ranging from renewable energy and housing to gaming and hospitality. His deep experience in handling complex regulatory environments and building large-scale enterprises is expected to be a major asset for WIP Energy.

Joining him is Gillian Harris, a finance expert with over three decades of international experience. Harris brings a wealth of knowledge in global treasury management, investment strategy, and enterprise transformation. Her expertise in governance and financial oversight will play a critical role as the company scales its operations globally.

Reflecting on the new additions, Hylton praised both leaders for their proven track records. He highlighted that these appointments signal the company’s clear direction as it prepares to tackle new challenges and opportunities in the energy market.

Levy, who was awarded the Order of Jamaica in 2021 for his contributions to national development, expressed his excitement about the new role. He noted that WIP Energy is at a crucial stage of its development and he is eager to contribute to its vision for the Caribbean energy sector.
