A typical Sunday evening turned into a scene of sorrow in Ogun State after a Toyota Coaster bus struck and killed a pedestrian. The incident occurred at Imowo, along the busy Imowo-Ibadan road, leading into Ijebu Ode.

According to officials from the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), the accident took place around 4:45 pm. Eyewitnesses reported that the victim failed to look properly before dashing across the road, leading to the fatal collision.

The area is currently undergoing road rehabilitation, which has forced traffic into a single lane. This construction zone likely contributed to the difficulty of the situation, causing a massive gridlock shortly after the bus hit the man.

Officers from the Obalende Police Division and TRACE operatives arrived quickly to manage the scene. They worked to clear the road and restore order to the flow of traffic, ensuring that no further accidents occurred while the area was congested.

Emergency teams later moved the victim's body to the General Hospital mortuary in Ijebu Ode. Authorities have since impounded the bus and moved it to the Igbeba Police Area Command to allow for a full investigation into the matter.
