Cooling giant Voltas has recorded a massive 51 percent jump in its net profit for the first quarter of the 2027 fiscal year. The company announced that its consolidated profit reached ₹212.8 crore, a significant climb from the ₹140.6 crore it made during the same period last year.
The impressive growth was fueled primarily by a booming demand for room air conditioners. Voltas revealed that it achieved a major milestone by selling over one million air conditioning units in just 81 days, cementing its position as the market leader. Overall revenue from operations rose by nearly 19 percent, totaling ₹4,673.5 crore for the quarter.
Beyond its cooling products, the company saw success through its joint venture, Voltbek Home Appliances. This partnership with the Turkish firm Arcelik recorded its highest sales figures ever, with strong interest in their washing machines and refrigerators. The company noted that these results were achieved despite rising costs of materials and currency fluctuations.
While the cooling segment soared, the company faced some hurdles in its international engineering projects. Ongoing conflicts in West Asia have caused delays in new orders, leading to a dip in revenue for the Electro-Mechanical Projects and Services division. However, the company remains confident, holding a healthy order book worth over ₹6,345 crore.
Managing Director Mukundan Menon C P described the quarter as a defining moment for the brand. He credited the success to smart product management, wider reach, and the consistent trust that customers place in Voltas products. The company plans to continue its focus on manufacturing efficiency and local sourcing to maintain its momentum in the coming months.
